It is hard for someone who has been in eastern Europe to believe that woman in socialist societies exhibit a higher level of female happiness because they populate positions in nuclear physics or aerodynamic engineering. My experiences were quite the opposite. Perhaps it is because their simple family lives are not under the same illusions of no fault independence, spoon fed to us here in the land of milk and funny (or
family court money).
