Can I support employee-owned companies with my retirement accounts?

Dear Dr. Wolff, I receive significant retirement benefits from my employer (not employee-owned), which I would like to invest in order to promote employee-owned businesses. Can you provide any guidance on how to pursue a way to support employee-owned enterprises in this way? Thank you for all your work to develop a viable solution to Capitalism's inherent unsustainability.

Sorry for the delay in responding; Your question is important because all sorts of people, as they become aware of the social transformative potential of worker coops, would like to invest in that process. We are thinking of starting some sort of investment fund that would do this and offer just such opportunities to people like yourself. But we do not have such a vehicle nor am I aware of anyone already existing (indeed that is one reason we may do that).
