Walter Baier of the Transform Network will present an overview of the European Left: its strengths and weaknesses, problems and prospects in and out of electoral politics. He will then engage with Professor Wolff in a discussion of the lessons for the US in the European Left experience. Topics to be discussed will include the rise of the Die Linke party in Germany as well as anti-capitalist parties across Europe and the relation of all of these to the evolving capitalist crisis.
